Costway Massage Gaming Chair (Red)

How does the massage function work and what are the power requirements?

The massage system features four massage points positioned along the waist and back areas. It plugs into a standard UK mains socket and offers eight different massage modes with adjustable intensity levels. You can set a timer for automatic shut-off and control the massage strength through a handheld controller. The massage function operates independently of the chair's other features, so you can use it while reclining or sitting upright.

What is the weight capacity and how sturdy is the frame construction?

The chair supports a maximum weight of 150kg thanks to its reinforced frame and upgraded class-4 gas lift system. The frame uses iron construction with additional reinforcement at stress points. The base is designed for stability during reclining and includes anti-tip features. The sturdy construction ensures the chair remains stable even when fully reclined with the footrest extended.

How much space do I need when the chair is fully reclined with footrest extended?

When fully reclined at 130° with the footrest extended, the chair requires approximately 142cm of length from the back to the front of the footrest. The chair measures 80cm wide and 80cm deep in its upright position. You should allow at least 150cm of clear space behind the chair for comfortable reclining. The chair's compact design when upright makes it suitable for most home office and gaming room setups.

Is the chair suitable for people of different heights and what are the ergonomic features?

The chair accommodates users through its 50-57cm height adjustment range, though some taller users report their feet don't touch the floor at the lowest setting. The removable headrest can be positioned for different neck heights. The seat measures 50cm wide by 56cm deep, suitable for most body types. The ergonomic design includes proper lumbar support positioning and armrests, though the armrests are not adjustable.

How difficult is the assembly process and what tools are required?

Assembly typically takes 30-60 minutes and requires basic tools that are included in the package. The most challenging part is aligning the backrest bolts through the leather holes, which requires patience and precision. Some users recommend having a second person help with holding components in place. The instruction manual provides step-by-step guidance, though some users find online video tutorials more helpful for the assembly process.

What maintenance does the PU leather require and how do I clean it?

The PU leather surface requires minimal maintenance and can be cleaned with a damp cloth for regular cleaning. For deeper cleaning, use mild soap solution and avoid harsh chemicals that could damage the leather finish. The material is designed to be wear-resistant and breathable compared to standard synthetic materials. Regular dusting and occasional conditioning will help maintain the leather's appearance and flexibility over time.

Can the massage function be used while reclining and are there any noise considerations?

Yes, the massage function works in any reclining position from upright to fully reclined at 130°. The massage motors do produce noticeable vibration noise, particularly when you're not sitting in the chair. The noise level is generally acceptable for home use but may be audible to others in the same room. The massage controller allows you to adjust intensity, which can help manage noise levels during use.

What colours are available and how does the red finish look in different lighting?

The chair is available in red, black, blue, grey and pink colour options. The red finish features a rich, vibrant tone that maintains its colour consistency under different lighting conditions. The PU leather has a slight sheen that gives it a premium appearance without being overly glossy. The red colour works well in gaming setups and home offices, providing a bold accent piece that complements most room décor styles.
